I always recommend a client arranges a walk through with the electrician prior to installation, after the framing is in place. The electrician can advise where electrical receptacles (plug outlets), switches and light fixtures may go, pointing out code requirements and restrictions. On our working drawings, we indicate or suggest locations, more for common sense. You may have certain requirements for a particular room and this is the time to discuss them.
Plumbing rough ins (pipes for sanitary and water), are laid prior to the basement slab being poured. These pipes are tied into the municipal services or septic tank and are stubbed and capped.
